The size of the commission

The prices below show the cost of the standard and most popular sizes, but I am flexible and will paint whatever size you require. The orientation of the picture, landscape or portrait, is dependant on the image to be used. If you would like to email an image to me, I can advise on more suited to the photograph.

The number of subjects

As many people or animals can be painted on one canvas as required.

There are many possible compositions, as you can see in the Gallery, again I can offer advice about what may work with the photos available. Generally £50 is added to the price per image.

Head or full body

Dependant on what composition you require and the chosen photograph, I can paint either the head and shoulders or a full body. The prices are more expensive for the full body, as more work is required.

Plain or detailed background

You can opt for either a plain or detailed background depending on your preference. If you choose a detailed scene behind the head and shoulders painting, an extra charge of £25 is added to the price.

On canvas or on paper

The painting can be on canvas, which is the more traditional choice or on paper, if you prefer the painting to be mounted and framed with glass. It is down to personal choice and may need to take into account the other paintings you may have in your home.

The painting produced on paper is more expensive due to the higher framing costs and the time taken to produce. The paper surface is smoother than the canvas allowing a more detailed finish.
